“Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.”

Illustration & Pattern Design
by FoxKay

My work starts with pencil smudges and ends with layered, digital illustrations inspired by everyday beauty - tangled hedgerows, dusty tiles, curious animals, and travel memories.

This portfolio is a snapshot of my evolving design journey, with projects that range from countryside sketches to bold, repeat patterns and whimsical character designs. Each piece tells a story - sometimes intentional, sometimes discovered along the way.

Look out for:
• Before & after: Sketch → Final Design
• Pattern collections inspired by places
• Standalone pieces from my journal experiments

Browse, get inspired, or just enjoy a little mooch around.

Think of this portfolio as the sketch before the pattern. For now, these project spaces are placeholders - but soon they’ll hold the work I’m most proud of.

My first full collection, Into the Moss, is already in the making: a series inspired by countryside walks from our first home in Great Barford, long rambles with my mum, and the kind of evenings that end with a glass of red in the village pub.

This page will grow as my collections do - a living journal of the designs that matter most.

Until then, you can catch up on my latest sketches, colourful ‘arty-farty’ moments, and a few travel stories that might even inspire your next holiday. You’ll find it all in my blog, The Patterned Fox — my creative journal where I share the messy bits, the making, and the memories that shape my designs.
